It's my first time to watch in the bronze section of the SM MOA Concert Grounds and it was a shock! I honestly didn't know that Paramore is that popular here in Manila! I could barely find anyone to go with me to watch them and then even outside of the concert grounds there were already enough people to fill up another auditorium. We were late and as we were rushing towards the concert grounds we thought the show hadn't started because from the outside it looked like people were still lining up to get in but apparently, there were fans who just went to stay outside and listen to their music. Amazing. I have never been to that kind of concert where the people outside are almost the same number as those inside. However, I don't regret not getting the VIP tickets though because my friends who got them got a little bit disappointed due to the last minute re-arranging of the VIP and Gold sections. Paramore requested that the VIP section be moved a little bit farther for security reasons which resulted to them almost in the same area as those of the Gold. My other friend who was at the Silver section said that they ended up watching the screen because of the distance and thickness of people which I already knew because of the Ne-Yo concert.
Anyway, that said about my amazement for Paramore fans, I wasn't able to catch Callalily's performance so no comment there. What I loved about the concert was the fact that Paramore performed almost all their hits even those that did not come from the Brand New Eyes album. This naturally resulted to people singing and dancing and jumping throughout their entire concert. But I think the people didn't have enough time to get exhausted because the show was over in about an hour and a half. They were done by 10pm with no encore which left most of the audience a little disappointed.
Notwithstanding, Hayley Williams is definitely one of the coolest chick I know. She headbangs like a boy on speed and she sings like a concert diva. Plus she jumps, dances and she's actually pretty cute. Williams has this amazing, amazing voice that's strong and full and I can't fathom where she pulls it out from. It was just kind of disappointing how sometimes the speakers get all noisy unlike the Gary V and Martin Nievera concert. I think of course it's because I was standing all the way at the other end but still, I expected more. She was also wearing this uber cool Para Thrilla in Manila shirt that I soooo want!! I like that they exerted effort to personalize it for us. I'm sure they weren't disappointed at all from all the support they got. They even had their picture taken with the audience as a background :)

The concert was awfully short but it was wonderfully energetic. Paramore didn't take a break and they didn't come back for an encore either. They made sure people knew that by banging their instruments at the end of the show. You can't go wrong with 500 pesos but I guess the experience would have been richer if we were a little bit closer to the stage. There were times when the concert felt like watching something from MTV. The vocals were okay and I still couldn't see them close enough to feel their presence. I guess the best and worst part about it was the crowd. Everybody was singing along and literally in the Paramore craze moment but of course that meant more sweat flying to your face and you become more wary of your bag because people were bumping to each other. I wish they would come back and if their album is as good as Brand New Eyes, I'll definitely watch them in Gold at least ;)
P.S. While looking for a decent photo of Hayley during the concert, I came across that one on top by Nina Sandejas and discovered her wonderful site with her wonderful concert pictures! I am a fan and will start following her in tumblr. Amazing photogs ;)
