It's not only the holiday rush that makes the BER months frantic for me but my allergic rhinitis. As soon as the temperature starts dropping, I start sneezing. This involves an endless array of decongestants, inhalers, menthol rubs, antihistamines and tissue, tissue, tissue for me.
So when Omnicom Media Group invited me to their blogger event for DRIXINE Nasal Spray Decongestant, I was genuinely interested. Not to mention that their invite specifically provided for us to wear comfortable clothes and that the venue was at Zoom Top, Circulo Verde.
When we got there, they first made us try the Silver Surfer. In this ride, you will be standing up, hopefully facing a partner and holding on to a handle bar. Save for the harness attached to your waist and your capacity for a firm grip, you are very well in danger of dangling dangerously a few feet off the ground. Once it starts though, it's not half as scary anymore. I think more than anything else, it was a psychological kind of torture for me. Being that vulnerable to falling with barely a safety net or strap around me and the fact that we had to go back and forth a couple of times. There was also that part where you are above a mango tree which makes the feeling of being high up even more prominent.
We had lunch and then proceeded to discuss Drixine. The discussion was hosted by Sam YG of Boys Night Out while the medical side was taken care of by Dra. Natividad Almazan, a ENT specialist. It was Raphael Carpio, brand manager for Drixine who introduced us to this life saver. You can read more on that by clicking Fast Relief or if you simply want to see me use the spray in public. :))
After the awarding of the prizes, we went on the Parachute Fall Ride. If I thought I was pretty much left on my wits on the Silver Surfer, the Parachute Fall had be hanging by a thread, literally. I was harnessed and my feet and arms are just left swinging and dangling. It was so scary at first but I realized it's not as high or as fast like the kind that would make you feel like you left your insides and your heart in the air while you plummeted to the ground. It's no walk in the park either but it's a manageable kind of fright I guess once you get over the fact that you are 200 feet above the ground and free falling back down.
I brought my camera with me and took this photo on our way back to the tower :)
Prices for the rides are as follows (although Drixine was kind enough to shoulder our fees for us ;))

There were a few drops of rain but we decided to continue higher to the Superman Ride. As soon as we stepped out of the elevator, the guys from TreeTop Adventure had us strapped to the railings as we waited for our turn. This ride had our chest atop a bar and our feet on top of another while a canvass is slid underneath our body to hold our weight. The prostate position was quite uncomfortable at first but once you position yourself on the canvass, you pretty much get used to it. We were zoomed out but I thought it wasn't moving too fast. Once we got to the other end though, after a few seconds, we literally zoomed back to the where we started. It was exhilarating and definitely not for those scared of heights. It wasn't as fast as the Parachute Fall and it felt safer than the Silver Surfer. However, the ride is positioned higher on the tower and it gave you enough time to realize that you are that high, that fast with only a harness. So yes, it was still scary. All the rides were thrilling especially if it's your first time :)I brought my camera with me and took this photo on our way back to the tower :)
